HELD Patrons
Professor Allan Kellehear
Doula care is social care that connects and draws families, neighbours, and professionals together.
Doulas walk the long journey at the end-of-life as compassionate companions in sickness and death, in loss and grief, and in the important interpersonal tasks of coming-together and going-beyond. They are essential, hands-on public health workers that promote wellbeing, support, and compassion at the end of our lives. They are community made real and present.
I am proud to be asked to be Patron of HELD Australia, and I hope to support its members in the next exciting steps of their national development.
